Please join us to help children around Uganda have a better life
Echoes of Children’s Voices (ECOV) Uganda is a national non-governmental organization founded in 2015 to advocate for the rights and protection of children. We work with communities and partners to amplify children’s voices and promote their wellbeing across Uganda.
ECOV Uganda was officially registered in 2019 with the Uganda National NGO Bureau under file number INDR143881987NB, granting the organization a mandate to operate throughout Uganda. The organization is also registered with the Uganda Registrar of Companies as a company limited by guarantee and a body corporate
ECOV Uganda is a membership organization governed by its Constitution. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) serves as the supreme governing body, while the Executive Board (EXBOD) elected by the AGM provides oversight and guides the organization’s operations.
ECOV was started by two individuals driven by a heartfelt passion for children and a strong desire to nurture their potential, protect their future, and empower them to thrive. Overtime ECOV’s programs have continued to broadly target poor women, highly vulnerable children and unemployed and underemployed youth.
ECOV currently operates in three districts of Eastern Uganda, Kamuli, Luuka, and Iganga. However, in 2026 and beyond ECOV will expand to other new districts especially in Central region (Wakiso district), Karamoja subregion (the districts of Abim, Amudat, and Moroto), and the Northern region (the districts of Gulu, Omoro, Oyam, and Kole).
ECOV Uganda strengthens the connection between Business, Technical, Vocational Education and Training (BTVET) and the world of work. We design programs that combine practical training, competence-based curricula, apprenticeships, and career guidance to ensure youth gain relevant skills for employment and entrepreneurship. By collaborating with employers and private sector actors, ECOV helps learners transition from training into meaningful work and sustainable livelihoods.
ECOV prioritizes inclusive programs that support youth, women, refugees, and marginalized communities. Through mentorship, business development support, and awareness initiatives, we promote gender equality, economic inclusion, and protection of vulnerable groups. Our integrated Education, Health, and Livelihoods (LEH) model addresses interconnected community needs, helping participants build capabilities, improve their lives, and break the cycle of poverty.
ECOV has a lean but dedicated and self-driven staff, supported by the Executive Board of Directors (EXBOD) of seven members.
Our organization truly believes that by working together, we can empower our children who are our future.
